| Description | A fragment of a germanic fibula, most likely Gepid or Ostrogothic. Broken at mid bow. The flat spring plate has a protrusion on each side and at the top and is patterned by a chipped double curl, which is typical for the period. Iron deposits on the underside suggest the spring, pin or anchor pin was of iron. Image reconstruction from fragment. | |
